COURSES AND PRICING

The Tailwheel Course

Ready to remove the training wheels? The Tailwheel Course prepares you to operate conventional-gear configured aircraft, but also opens the door to a wide spectrum of flying adventures. From banner towing to aerial application, bush flying to aerobatics, many paths in aviation begin with learning to operate a tailwheel aircraft. We explore three-point and wheel landings, crosswind operations, and an extensive array of considerations pertaining to tailwheel operations.

The Tailwheel Course includes ground and flight elements, going well beyond the requirements to obtain a tailwheel endorsement recognized by the FAA, which shows you have had the required training and exhibit the necessary competency to safely operate a tailwheel configured aircraft.

Also, ask about our complimentary group ground sessions! Successful completion of the group ground makes you eligible for reduced course pricing.

The Spins and Recoveries Course

You devote well over 99% of your training time to coordinated flight. When the time comes in your training to cross-control stall the aircraft–a fully uncoordinated maneuver, knowledge of which is required even at the private pilot level–are you ready to recover as your Cessna 172 ratchets onto its back and finds you inverted with the stall horn blaring? Do you even know which direction it will spin?

The Spins and Recoveries Course includes ground and flight elements, and concentrates on preparing instructors or instructor candidates to confidently and safely teach stalls and react to spins in the training environment. This course culminates in a spin endorsement recognized by the FAA, which is required for your CFI certificate. This course is also very benefical for pilots of all certificate levels (from student to private to commercial and beyond) and can be taken multiple times or on a regular basis to maintain proficiency. Previous tailwheel experience is not required.

The Advanced Aviator Course

A long day of flying can wear you out and affect both your motor skills and decision making processes. Though we hope it never happens, all to often we read of ill-fated pilots who found themselves stalled and uncoordinated, spinning to the earth below, fresh out of ideas and altitude. Should that time come, are you prepared? Do you know how your body will react under four times the pull of gravity outside the envelope of any plane you have flown before?

The Advanced Aviator Course includes ground and flight elements, explores upset prevention and recovery techniques, and exposes you to g-loading, startle-response elements, and extended envelopes. Previous tailwheel experience is not required.

Course pricing includes full access to the aircraft, ground instruction, and flight instruction. Should you require or request extra ground or flight instruction, you may do so under a la carte pricing.
